11th Annual Golf Tournament Announced
Dear Friend,
We would, again, like to thank all our Sponsors and Donors for their kindness and generosity over the past 10 years. The Board of Directors is proud to announce that the Major Alister C. McGregor Memorial 11th Anniversary Golf Tournament will be held, again, at Agawam Hunt Country Club, located at 15 Roger Williams Avenue, East Providence, Rhode Island on Tuesday, September 11th 2012. Also, this year, we welcome a new Tournament Organizer, Sgt. Kenneth Luke, who will be joined by our Director of Operations, Jim Miller, in coordinating this year’s Tournament.
We hope that you will consider contributing to the continued success of our partnership which provides scholarships to family members of fallen police officers through an endowment at Roger Williams University. This is our opportunity to say thank you to the men and women of law enforcement that serve and protect you, and patronize your businesses. By contributing, you are joining our family and a partnership that consists of over two three individuals and businesses, and forty-six agencies and organizations. As an incentive, we encourage all our partners to show their loyalty to all of our caring friends that remember and acknowledge the sacrifices made by our fallen brothers and sisters and their families.
We are asking for your support, in the form of donations and tee sponsorships. Attached to this letter is a donation, sponsorship and Tournament participant form. Please fill it out and forward it along with your donation, sponsorship and/or Tournament fees to The McGregor Memorial Fund, 500 Waterman Avenue #287, East Providence RI, 02914. As in the past, foursomes will be awarded on a first-come/first-served basis. The Tournament is always full; therefore, it is important to get your entries in early. All cash, gift certificates, and prizes donated for this event are tax deductible (Federal I.D. #222509511).
On behalf of the members of the East Providence Police Department and the McGregor Family, thank you for your caring and support.
If you have questions, please, e-mail us through www.mcgregormemorial.org. We look forward to your participation in keeping the memory of Alister C. McGregor in our hearts and minds, while providing support for those who have suffered as a result of the sacrifice of their fallen loved one.
Sincerely,
Walter H. Barlow, Jr.

East Providence Police Station Dedication
Dear Friends,
I have been a little lax in getting messages out because I have been working on a few other projects. One of which is the dedication of the East Providence Police Station in Al’s name. On Tuesday, December 27th, 2011 at 11AM, the City of East Proviidence and the McGregor Family will be dedicating the Major Alister C. McGregor Pubiic Safety Complex. The public is invited to attend the ceremony at 750 Waterman Avenue, East Providence, RI with refreshments at Breed Hall located at the Senior Center at the corner of Waterman and Pawtucket Avenues following the brief dedication program. I realize that this is short notice, I was waiting for the plaque to be placed on the building to make sure we would meet the deadline.
This year marks the 10th year since Al passed. It only seems fitting that we mark the day with something to continue his legacy for his Family and the Department. This was the building where he worked. He kept a banker’s light burning in his office at night. The light stayed on for some time after he passed. The light was symbolic. To some it made them feel like they were home when they pulled in the lot. To others it was a simple reminder that he must be watching. I can not think of a better place to place his name.
I hope to see you there on the 27th. I will be updating the website with all kinds oif new things after the 1st. To all of our Sponsors, Donors, Golfers and Friends have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Sincerely,
Walter H. Barlow, Jr.

Golf Tournament Info
Golfers,
The Tournament is less than a month away. At this point, I would like to pass the course rules, once again, regarding appropriate dress for the day of the Tournament. Again, please pass this on the members of your foursomes.
1. You must be wearing a collared shirt.
2. No cargo shorts of pants.
3. Golf shoes can be any style. No metal spikes.
4. Shorts may be worn
5. No jeans or denim shirts or pants will be worn
Please pass this information on. If a golfer shows up in inappropriate attire, you will not be allowed to play until your outfit conforms with these rules. Please be respectful and make every effort to care for the course. Replace divots and repair ball marks on the greens. The course is challenging and a lot of fun to play.
We still need volunteers to help us on the day of the Tournament. If you know someone that wishes to volunteer, please, have them contact me through the webmail on our website, www.mcgregormemorial.org. Volunteers will receive lunch and dinner, an embroidered shirt and memorial bracelet for their time.
See you on the 12th,
Walter Barlow
