Golf Tournament Update

The McGregor Tournament is full. There are 162 golfers and play will run approximately a 1/2 hour slower than our normal, relatively quick pace. As a result of the numbers, there will be two golfers to a cart. Some carts are equipped with plexiglass partitions and single carts will be made available upon request and based on availability.

Registration starts on 9/14 at 7AM with a shotgun start at 8AM. There will be coffee and donuts in the morning. Soda, water and Power Aid courtesy of Coca Cola on the course. Lunch will be served on a yet to be designated hole or location. A buffet will be served on the open-air patio shortly after play has ended. Guests must have a mask for designated gathering areas. In order to limit contact with volunteers and registrars, golfers are being asked to, please, designate a member of your foursome that will remit greens fees and collect your groups Tournament Bags containing McGregor Swag and gift coupons.

We encourage everyone to visit the Sponsors And Donors page at mcgregormemorial.org, and to patronize the businesses that make this the largest and best Public Safety and Community golf tournament in Southern New England I would like to thank all our Golfers, and our Tee Sponsors and Donors, who have once again overwhelmed us with your generosity, support and commitment to our Rhode Island Communities and Public Safety Professionals, and helping us to keep the memory and legacy of Alister C. McGregor alive for the past 19 years.

Golf Tournament Update 8/26/2019

“The response we receive for our annual fundraiser this year was, again, tremendous. The Tournament is full for the 18th time. This year we were able to infuse more into the McGregor Endowment at Roger Williams University, and support so many good causes such as The Pan-Mass Challenger, Special Olympics of RI, The Same Thing Project, the E.P. High School Band that will be performing in Washington D.C. next Memorial Day, The I Am Able Foundation and more.

Congratulations to the 2018-2019 McGregor Scholarship recipient, Samantha Poland.

A special shout out to the Florida SWAT Association for their donation, entry of a foursome, and for securing donations from Florida businesses.

Thank you to all our Donors, Sponsors and Golfers for making this the best and largest annual police fundraiser in the State of Rhode Island. To all our partners, please, patronize those businesses that support our Law Enforcement Family.”

MAJOR ALISTER C. MCGREGOR MEMORIAL FUND
18TH ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

Dear Friend,

The Board of Directors of the Major Alister C. McGregor Memorial Fund would like to thank all our Sponsors and Donors for their caring and generosity over the past 18 years. We are pleased to announce that for the 6th year, the Major Alister C. McGregor Annual Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at Crestwood Country Club located at 90 Wheeler Street, Rehoboth, Massachusetts on Monday, September 9th 2019 at 7AM (Registration). As in the past, the proceeds from the Tournament will be used to provide scholarships through the McGregor Endowment at Roger Williams University, and to support youth activities and programs designated by the McGregor Charities.

Over the years, our partnership has provided scholarships to the sons and daughters of fallen and active police officers, and students who meet the Endowment criteria that can be found on the Roger Williams University website. In addition, we have expanded our mission to help and support the Special Olympics, youth sports programs, the Open Doors Initiative and many more. Through your kindness and generosity our partnership has been able to make a difference in the lives and the futures of so many, all in the name of a man who is still in our hearts, thoughts and prayers – Alister Crawford McGregor.

Once again, we are hoping that you will support our annual fundraiser in the form of a donation, tee sponsorship, or by entering a foursome to play in our annual Tournament. Enclosed with this letter is a donation, sponsorship and tournament participant form. Please, fill it out and forward it along with your donation, sponsorship and/or fees to: The McGregor Memorial Fund, 105 Waterman Avenue #287, East Providence RI, 02914.
