2016 Golf Tournament Update

We would like to thank everyone who viewed and liked The McGregor Memorial Facebook page and website, www.mcgregormemorial.org. We would also like to thank those of you who have donated to the fund and our annual Tournament Fundraiser. The proceeds of our fundraising efforts go to the Major Alister C. McGregor Endowment at Roger Williams University and the McGregor Youth Charities. If you have a child interested in attending RWU, go to the RWU Endowment s or the McGregor website, view the criteria information, and submit an application to the school. If you have a youth charity that may need financial support, send a request through our email address on our web-page. For those of you golfing in the 2016 Tournament, it will be held at Crestwood Country Club, located at 90 Wheeler Street, Rehoboth, Massachusetts on Monday, September 12th, 2016. Registration begins at 7:30 AM with a shotgun start at 8:30 AM. Coffee and pastry will be served in the AM, lunch at the turn, and dinner following play.

There will be a number of skill-challenges and an opportunity to win prizes. A mulligan package will be available to each golfer for the meager sum of $20.00. The package will contain: A two foot string in order to move your ball two feet ; an opportunity to throw your ball out of a sand trap (just once), one opportunity to re-hit your drive off the tee or from a lie on the course (just once), an opportunity for men to hit, just once, from the lady’s tee (where most of you should be hitting from anyway), and the ladies may hit from in front of the red tee-box, at an equi-distance from the white tee-box to the red tee –box. The purchase of this challenge package will also afford you the opportunity to win the coveted McGregor Sash (in red plaid this year) and an MRT watch – if you are really that good or lucky.

For those of you who have not entered, I regret to inform you that the Tournament is completely full. The McGregor Family, the ACM Board of Directors, Roger Williams University, and the members of the East Providence Police Department want to express our deepest gratitude to all who have help us to perpetuate this tribute to Al over the past 15 years.

Thank you, and stay safe. – B.O.D. ACM Fund
