Golf Tournament Info

Golfers,

The Tournament is less than a month away. At this point, I would like to pass the course rules, once again, regarding appropriate dress for the day of the Tournament. Again, please pass this on the members of your foursomes.

1. You must be wearing a collared shirt.
2. No cargo shorts of pants.
3. Golf shoes can be any style. No metal spikes.
4. Shorts may be worn
5. No jeans or denim shirts or pants will be worn

Please pass this information on. If a golfer shows up in inappropriate attire, you will not be allowed to play until your outfit conforms with these rules. Please be respectful and make every effort to care for the course. Replace divots and repair ball marks on the greens. The course is challenging and a lot of fun to play.

We still need volunteers to help us on the day of the Tournament. If you know someone that wishes to volunteer, please, have them contact me through the webmail on our website, www.mcgregormemorial.org. Volunteers will receive lunch and dinner, an embroidered shirt and memorial bracelet for their time.

See you on the 12th,
Walter Barlow

Golf Tournament Update

Golfers,

Today, we went out to Agawam Hunt to check out the course. It is absolutely beautiful. The Tournament is less than a month away. At this point, I would like to pass on some of the course rules concerning appropriate dress for the day of the Tournament. Please pass this on the members of your foursomes.

1. You must be wearing a collared shirt.
2. No cargo shorts of pants.
3. Golf shoes can be any style. No metal spikes.

Please pass this information on. If a golfer shows up in inappropriate attire, you will not be allowed to play until your outfit conforms with these rules. Please be respectful and make every effort to care for the course. Replace divots and repair ball marks on the greens. The course is challenging and a lot of fun to play. Anyone knowing anyone that wishes to volunteer to help us on the day of the Tournament, please, have them contact me through the webmail on our website, www.mcgregormemorial.org.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Monique Sebastian and Mike 'I Got a Roll of Quarters with Your Name on It' Farrell for a great raffle prize – a night with Willie Nelson. Thank you for a great prize!

See you on the 12th,
Walter Barlow

PS Jeans and denim will not be allowed on the course on the day of the Tournament. If you are wearing jeans or denim pants or shorts, you will not be allowed to play. Please pass this on to the other members of your foursomes.

Our Donors & Sponsors

Golfers,

First, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome back our new and old friends, the Donors and Sponsors that have been with us in the past. I would also like to welcome our newest Sponsors and Donors: Papa Sam's, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse, Trattoria Romana, Cilantro Mexican Grill, East Coast Charters, River Rebel Charters and Ryan Tooley of Marvel & Associates, LLC.

As always, I encourage all of our Partners, Golfers and Families to visit our Donors and Sponsors web-page at www.mcgregormemorial.org to see the businesses and individuals that have shown their kindness and generosity in order to make our fundraising efforts successful. Please, show your appreciation and patronize these special establishments. After paying them a visit, send an email expressing your appreciation.

I would like to, again, congratulate Laura Kelly and Caitlin Allen, the recipients of 2011 scholarships from the McGregor Endowment and Scholarship Funds. Best wishes in the upcoming school year.

In addition, on Tuesday of last week, I met with Michele Allaux at Roger Williams University. We discussed the Endowment and exchanged ideas concerning getting the word out about the scholarships offered by the Major Alister C. McGregor endowment. At that time, another check for $3000 was added to the Endowment Fund thanks to your generosity.

For those of you who have been waiting for embroidered pullovers, Graphic Ink has notified me, today, that they are ready. I will get them out in the next couple of days.

Also, dinner is available to friends and family members the day of the Tournament. The price is $25.00 to join us on the afternoon of September 12th for dinner and the raffle.

The time is winding down. We are a month away from the Tournament and there is still a lot to be done. I need everyone that has a foursome to submit the names of those people in your foursome, and provide their shirt sizes. There is a fast approaching deadline to have the shirt order in, for them to be done by the day of the Tournament. We will not be ordering extra shirts. Any order placed after August 22nd will not be distributed at the Tournament.

Lastly, you must get your Tournament fees in by August 15th to guarantee your place in the Tournament. There are a number of foursomes waiting to hear if there are cancellations. So get them in, today! Checks can be sent to The ACM Memorial Fund, 500 Waterman Avenue #287, East Providence, RI 02914.

See you on Monday, September 12th, 2011. Thank you all for your support.

Sincerely,
Walter H. Barlow, Jr.

Donated Fishing Trips

The Board of Directors of the Alister C. McGregor Memorial Foundation is pleased to announce that two local charter fishing captains have donated trips for auction at the upcoming 10th Annual Golf Tournament at the Agawam Hunt Club on September 12, 2011.

The first trip is for two anglers with Capt. Jack Sprengel of East Coast Charters. The lucky bidder will have a choice of possible trips, including Block Island for striped bass, offshore for shark or tuna, or bottom fishing for fluke, sea bass, and blackfish. This trip will be aboard a 23-foot center console fishing boat piloted by Board member Andy Berg. Captain Sprengel’s website can be found at this link:

www.eastcoastchartersri.com/

The other charter is with Capt. Randy Bagwell of River Rebel Charters. This is a trip for four anglers aboard Capt. Bagwell’s 26 foot Albin fishing machine. Again, the winner of this trip will have several options for targeted species, depending on the time of year. Capt. Bagwell’s website can be seen at:

www.riverrebelcharters.com/

The Board of Directors would like to thank Capt. Sprengel and Capt. Bagwell for their generous contributions to this year’s event, and the Foundation.
