Tournament Update

Golfers,

Although we had some last minute cancellations, the McGregor Tournament is full with 144 golfers, 36 foursomes.

Here is an update on the schedule and tentative hole assignments:

8:00 – 9:00 AM Registration

Coffee, donuts, muffins and bagels will be provided by the Martins Family (Dunkin’ Donuts) in order for you to grab a bite before we tee off.

Churchill Smoke Shop and Lounge, courtesy of Bryan LeBeau, will be selling cigars if you did not stock up prior to your arrival

9:00 AM

Shotgun start. Format is a scramble. There will be 1st – 3rd Pace trophies for men and 1st and 2nd place mixed couples, as well as a women’s and men’s longest drive and closest to the pin. There will be hole-in-one prizes on all par 3 holes with a one that will pay out $10,000 for a hole-in-one

There will be a 50/50 putting challenge and silent auction for private Country Club foursomes. There will also be a silent auction with a reserve for four (4) Red Sox vs. Yankees Tickets for this coming Saturdays game courtesy of Bob Proulx and Coca Cola, as well as two (2) spring bass fishing charters courtesy Andy Berg and Captain Randy Bagwell. The proceeds from these two events will benefit interscholastic youth programs in the East Providence and Barrington school systems and youths involved in earning the distiction of Eagle Scout. The Board of Directors will review submissions for eligibility and needs.

The raffle this year will be drawn will the Tournament is in play. Upon the end of your round, prizes will be posted in the clubhouse. Hold onto your Mulligan tickets, which can be purchased up until the time dinner is served. During dinner, the coveted McGregor Sash for 2014 entry fees, four (4) tickets for Red Sox vs. Toronto, two weeks from this Saturday and other gifts will be raffled using the Mulligan Tickets. It’s an honor system. You get two Mulligans, or as we like to call it, an Irishman’s One, with each ticket purchased.

11:00 – 1:00 PM

Hot dogs and chips will be available for lunch on various locations on the course courtesy of Wings to Go in Johnston. Also, soft drinks will be located on the course courtesy of Coca Cola. A beverage cart will also be on the course if you get really thirsty and are hankering for something less soft drinky.

At the conclusion of the Tournament, dinner will be provided at the Agawam Clubhouse. It will consist of carving stations along with salad and desert bars.

Proper Dress Required:

– No cargo shorts or pants, cut offs or jeans
– No t-shirts. Collared shirts are required
– Golf shoes of any style are acceptable

Parking:

There is parking in both lots and along No. Broadway.
